In summary:
- Road bikes which use rim brakes mostly use 100mm x QR front and 130mm x QR rear axles.
- Disc brake road bikes mostly use 100mm x 12mm thru-axles front and 142mm x 12mm thru-axles rear
- Older MTB’s use 100mm x QR front and 135mm x QR rear
- Newer MTB’s use 100mm x 15mm thru-axles front and 142mm x 12mm thru-axles rear
- Many mountain bikes you can buy today use BOOST spacing, which is 110mm x 15mm front and 148mm x 12mm rear thru-axles.
