The cycling industry has been booming since lockdowns have been lifted and many people are looking to upgrade to, or replace damaged carbon rims and wheels.

A few months ago, shipments from China were severely delayed, but this is no longer the case, although shipping isn’t cheap.

Currently, there are quite a few available options for carbon rims:

South Industries – hand-made in Cape Town, these XC, Enduro and Gravel rims are superb, and are backed with a lifetime warranty. Find out more at www.southindustries.cc
These rims are normally available immediately.

cSixx are another proudly South Africa brand, but who’s rims are made in Asia – check out their range here: www.csixx.co.za
There is currently fairly healthy stock available locally.

Nextie are a Chinese brand who I have worked with for the last 3 years. They have a very large range of MTB, road and gravel rims available, and allow us to specify the carbon finish, spoke-hole count and the colour of the graphics.
These normally take about a month to manufacture and ship, but the quality is excellent, after-sales support has proven to be superb and the value for money is amazing.

As always, I’m happy to help with advice and recommendations specific to your requirements.
