Most people are really scared to attempt to true (or straighten) their own wheels when they become a bit wobbly.
The fear is unfounded, as the process really is easy, and quite forgiving, as long as you take it slow and easy. The only tools you need are a spoke wrench which fits, and something to mount the wheel in – even your bike frame or fork will work.
The key points are:
- Identify the area of the buckle
- Adjust the tension of the spokes in that area by tightening or loosening the nipples
