January 2023 – I’m excited to announce that Wheelbuilder is now an official Nextie distribution partner for South Africa.
I started working with Nextie back in 2018, ordering a pair of rims at a time.
Since then I’ve regularly bought rims from them and built countless wheels with their rims for my customers.
The service and responsiveness I have experienced has always been excellent, and not only for new orders, but after-sales service and warranty claims too.
Currently I still order on demand, and the lead time for delivery is 4-5 weeks.
What I love about working with Nextie are the options they provide at little or no extra cost:
- A choice of graphic colours and styles
- A choice of carbon finish – matt UD, free coating and weave patterns
While the cost of the Nextie rims is generally more affordable than options from other brands, it’s their commitment to quality and service that impresses me the most.
Here’s a list of the most popular models that I use in wheel builds for my customers:
29er MTB:
- Vista – the ultimate lightweight MTB rims – 280g per rim
- Super light 25mm inner width XC rims – 310g per rim

- Light and durable30mm inner width trail riding rims – 325g per rim (stronger 355g version available)
- Enduro / heavy hitting 35mm inner width e-bike rims – 485g per rim
